Designing an ‘office away from the office’ for BNZ partners centres nationwide

We provided architectural and design services for 32 partner centres, where BNZ clients can work, hold meetings, and catch up for networking events.

WSP Opus provided conceptual design and detailing for a nationwide network of BNZ partners centres. An ‘office away from the office,’ BNZ clients can use Partners Centres to conduct business and meetings while travelling, for meeting with their BNZ Partner and for networking events.

Client: BNZ Bank
Location: New Zealand, nationwide
Stage: Ongoing
Project Value: $16m construction budget
Role: Architectural design, structural and services engineering

The network encompasses 32 centres. Conceptual design started in August 2008 and the majority of the network was completed for February 2012.

The project grew out of the BNZ's new branding initiative. Our designers drew on their experience and creativity to deliver designs that reflect the BNZ's philosophy - encouraging client-staff interaction by breaking down barriers and promoting new ways of banking.

Our team came up with innovative solutions to achieve flexibility. Features of the spaces include: bookable and casual meeting areas; video and tele-conferencing; wireless internet access; interactive presentation equipment; print, copy, fax and scan facilities; Sky TV, business magazines and newspapers.

Taking advantage of our network of extensive experience and expertise in delivering end to end projects, we’ve been able to translate creativity into reality on time and on budget.

“WSP Opus has worked as a BNZ partner through a master service agreement since 2002. I have appreciated WSP Opus’ contribution over the years and particularly the response of the Christchurch team over the past two years undertaking evaluations post-earthquake events. The level of service that BNZ has received from WSP Opus over the years has been of a high quality”. - Garry Pellett, Head of Properties, BNZ
